NATIONAL BOATING ASSOCIATION OF MALDIVES
An annual celebration of excellence in boating across the Maldives, recognising outstanding service, safety, and sustainability since 2014.
EST. 2014
The Maldives Boating Awards is an initiative of NBAM, established in 2014 to recognise the strengths and services within the boating industry. Awards are presented across various categories encompassing different sectors and standards.
The aim is to encourage and elevate service standards within the Maldivian boating industry. NBAM holds the exclusive rights to these awards, and the size of a company is never considered during the nomination or voting process.
SINCE 2007
NBAM is a Maldivian association representing the liveaboards and boating business sector. Since its formation in 2007 — originally known as the Liveaboard Association of Maldives — NBAM has been the voice of the boating industry.
Our purpose is to help members grow their businesses successfully and sustainably, and to assist clients and operators in choosing the right company for their cruise vacation in the Maldives. By presenting a united voice to the government, we ensure the industry gets a fair deal.
We raise industry standards and provide guidance on sustainability, the environment, and safety.
By presenting a united voice to government, we ensure the boating industry gets a fair deal.
We build confidence in the boating industry, making clients and holidaymakers happy with their bookings.

HOW IT WORKS
A clear, four-step journey from nomination to award.
Participants can self-nominate or be nominated by other parties. Nominations are only accepted from NBAM member companies.
After review, accepted nominations are charged a fee: MVR 1,000 for categories 01–30 and MVR 500 for categories 31–40.
A selected panel of judges appointed by the rights holder evaluates confirmed nominations, including an official 15-minute presentation.
